Facebook, now a public company, has had to grow up and actually meet quarterly earnings. So, they&#8217;ve decreased the ability of brands to get the kind of reach they once had without spending some money.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve tracked our client\u00a0pages and we&#8217;ve seen this decline first hand. It matches\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sayitsocial.com\/2014\/03\/the-demise-of-earned-media-on-facebook\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/www.sayitsocial.com\/2014\/03\/the-demise-of-earned-media-on-facebook\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">what&#8217;s being reported<\/a>\u00a0by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/social.ogilvy.com\/facebook-zero-considering-life-after-the-demise-of-organic-reach\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/social.ogilvy.com\/facebook-zero-considering-life-after-the-demise-of-organic-reach\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Social@Ogilvy<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.altimetergroup.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/www.altimetergroup.com\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Altimeter Group<\/a>\u00a0and other reputable research firms.\u2028\u2028 So, here&#8217;s what we recommend.<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t buy the hype.<\/p>\n<p>But do consider buying more boosted posts (not ads). We&#8217;ve decided to encourage boosted posts, while\u00a0not raising our service prices to accommodate this change.<\/p>\n<p>We are building strategies that encourage effective and regular boosts\u00a0as well as\u00a0minimal increases in the investment. We suggest setting a budget amount (can be as little as $50\/month or more, but understand the more you boost, the more potential reach) that works for your\u00a0business budget.\u2028\u2028 You\u00a0can still be successful on Facebook without boosting more posts. Great content can still be shared and therefore reach more people. But, it&#8217;s much harder now.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve experimented quite a bit now for the past year with boosted posts and the results are quite dramatic.
